A Strange Affinity Designer Speed Art Made Me Draw Isometric Letter Art
As a casual artist, it's obvious that I have to get my ideas from somewhere. There's a big difference between plagiarism and inspiration. There will always be similarities in art. After watching this long video, I tried this idea and found myself learning something.
Once again, all the images I'll be showing were converted from AFDESIGN to PNG. Sorry really!
My own imitation is way too basic...
I tried to do the Isometric art, with the letters LAND. I imitated the format (somewhat) and added my own unique twist. However, I confess that I didn't do as well as the person who did the art. These are variations. You can tell the stairs aren't as well-prepared. I was practicing making stairs. It's not as easy as it looks!
Now, just try and enjoy the variations that I made below.
And now, spelling out the names of countries...
I decided to have all the letters flying flat. I decided to spell out PHILIPPINES first and then Japan. As a Filipino, it might be instinctive for me to spell out my country first. Making the isometric art with the word PHILIPPINES was harder. Making the JAPAN version was easier. It'd be much more difficult if I made an art with the name CZECHOSLOVAKIA--a very long name.
I believe it took me at least an hour to construct this one. I copy/pasted the trees from previous works of mine. Meanwhile, the houses were built on the spot and duplicated several times. I didn't want to spend too much time building different houses--unless if I intended to draw an uptown subdivision!
This one was easier to do because JAPAN is such a short name. I placed some apple trees, cherry blossom trees, and peach trees. Maybe, I should've put banana trees on my PHILIPPINES art. I placed some ancient Japanese houses, Mt. Fuji, and two pagodas.
