Drawing the Great Wall of China
I use Affinity Designer to draw bigger sketches. Sure, I couldn't upload the vector version, and these have been rastered. Sorry in advance to everyone! Anyway, I'd like to share my attempts to draw the Great Wall of China. As I realize it, isometric drawing is easier said than done!
This was my first attempt. I wanted to attempt elevating them but it never happened. It can be seen that this would look a child's attempt to learn Affinity Designer--something I'd recommend as part of their learning over MS Paint. MS Paint is really going to limit children toop much!
This was my attempt at a more complex part. It probably would look too wonky. I'd say that sometimes, more is less.
Now, I decided to go with just one part instead of trying to draw the entire Great Wall of China. I would probably need to hire millions of artists to draw it! Millions of Chinese perished during the construction of this magnficent terror. Anyway, this was my third attempt and I feel like I got a grasp!
I decided to modify it from the original AF Design file and add shadows. It's not the drop shadow function. Instead, it was all about duplicating the object (usually grouped), Color Overlay with black, reducing transparency, inverting the image, and tilting them. It's not easy, but it's been fun trying it.
