Drawing Puto Sikwate in Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo (With Bevel/Emboss)

While using either Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer, I had these choices. I drew the common Filipino snack known as puto (sticky rice) and sikwate (hot chocolate). As a casual artist, I thought about whether a flat-out 2D picture or a Bevel/Emboss effect would be my style. I find the charm in both and they can look good, if done right.

The first drawing could've been done on Affinity Photo, since I was planning to save it as a PNG later. I called Affinity Photo on hyper mode. Children may find themselves more amazed at what they can do on Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer than with MS Paint.

Here's the other version where I applied Bevel/Emboss layer effects. I realized it's best to plan ahead on what kind of art I'll make. I tried to copy/paste the one above. I removed the Outline effect, only to realize that I'd need massive editing. I decided to start from scratch instead, intending the whole thing to have Bevel/Emboss applied to the art.

This makes me think that both have their charm. Art with Bevel/Emboss can be good in its own way. The one without can also be good in its own way.
