I Couldn't Afford to Eat a Gold Steak (Nor Intend to Eat One, Either), So I Created These Gold Steak Arts Using Affinity Photo
I took the photo of a steak I ate at La Salsa Fil-Mex Cantita. The steak didn't come cheap but what if I ate it with a gold leaf? It would even be more outrageously expensive. General Secretary To Lam's gold leaf steak dinner (while he was the defense minister) served by Salt Bae, raised eyebrows. I was inspired by the incident to make these!
The methods I used was to either use the polygonal lasso to mimic the shape of the steak, press Ctrl + J while the gold leaf texture covered the whole steak, clip off the previous layer, and then presto.
However, I also experimented with using masking, a form of non-destructive editing. Masking has been more helpful than erasing. Erasing is destructive. Masking can allow me to cover and uncover any time I want to, especially in the trickier areas.
Either way, it's obvious that these gold leaf steaks aren't real!
